Greetings from President & CEO

World Business Associates Co., Ltd. was established in April 2006 by small and medium enterprise (SME) consultants to provide international cooperation and support. Since then, as a group of experts promoting the development of SMEs, we have undertaken various operations entrusted to us by government offices and public agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) operating official development assistance (ODA), the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA). The direct objectives of our operations include the promotion of SMEs in developing countries, human resource development, and feasibility study for overseas expansion of projects. In carrying out our overseas operations, we have always transmitted the importance of human-valuing management along with the spirit of “monozukuri” (product making) nurtured in Japan over the years, thus assisting developing countries in autonomous-nation building.
Our human network backed by a deep trust that has been built up through its operations connects more than 40 countries worldwide, including Russia and the New Independent States (NIS), as well as countries in Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.

Abenomics has attracted the public’s attention, and people’s expectations of growth strategies supported by regulatory reform and innovation have grown in Japan. The depreciation of the yen and the breaking free of deflation are in sight as a result of a price stability goal set by the Bank of Japan in conjunction with its policy of quantitative and qualitative monetary easing. In order to stabilize these trends, the Japanese government is putting forth measures to boost the overseas market entry of SMEs as important pillars of its growth strategy. We utilize the overseas human network that has been developed through our overseas operations, use the wealth of our experience as SME consultants, and assist SMEs in their overseas expansion with understanding their inherent constraints.

On the other hand, the number of wealthy people visiting Japan from around the world is significantly increasing as a result of a “Japan boom” and the effect of the weaker yen. They are interested not just in tourist attractions, but also nature, culture, food, and anime. Entrepreneurs, in particular, have begun to take a greater interest in the Japanese style of “keiei” (management), the essence of “monozukuri” (product making), and the culture of “omotenashi” (hospitality). We have conducted a variety of Japan business tours for overseas government officials, supporters of the promotion of relevant industries, and entrepreneurs, including training tours in Japan arranged by the Russia Support Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and those arranged by JICA. These tours are gaining popularity, because they provide unique opportunities for trainees, including inspection tours to enterprise production sites and question-and-answer sessions with the entrepreneurs, which are not provided for by usual tours. By utilizing the know-how of these tours, we have launched an inbound business to plan and conduct business-training tours targeting overseas entrepreneurs, thus supporting the bridging of domestic and foreign entrepreneurs while working on creating mechanisms contributing to their business.

Ten years has passed since World Business Associates Co., Ltd. came into existence and started expanding its business with “overseas” as its keyword. We adopted a new management structure in April 2015 to instill the next 10 years with fresh resolve. We attach importance to the bridging of Japan and the rest of the world for mutual development as the founding principle of the company, and proactively take on new business challenges.
We would like to extend our gratitude to you all for your enthusiastic support to our development to this point. The management and employees will continue to make further efforts under the new management structure, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with all of you.
